It’s Been Awhile. Let’s Talk.

It’s been so long since I’ve been able to write a blog.

For a few months, the option to write for Medium glitched out on me.

It wasn’t until I was inspired by Twitter friend, @N3rd_House, to take a look at the desktop version of Medium one last time — to which, I was surprised I was allowed to begin typing once again.

I went back on my Medium iPhone app, and suddenly I was allowed to write once more.

So here I am, typing away at this blog once again. I’m officially back, as long as you and this app will have me.

I love to write, as long as it’s something I’m deeply passionate about or interested in. I don’t much care for editing my writing though, but it’s a necessary evil to keep the flow of the words together.

I’ve been gone for awhile, and I’d like to do some catching up with you all. Where have I been? What have I been up to? These will be answered shortly.

Life:

I get married in a month. I’ve been helping my fiancée and groomsmen all prepare for the big day, where I will give my love and life to the woman I’ve been dating since I was 15.

We’re very excited, and I honestly can’t wait to marry her. I am looking forward to having a wife for the first time. I wouldn’t want it to be anyone else other than my high school sweetheart and best friend of the last 10 years.

Our 10 year anniversary is arriving soon — just 10 more days to go.

Recently I was told I had pre-diabetes and if I didn’t change my habits, I was going to have Type 2 diabetes for the remainder of my life.

I’m only 26, so having diabetes for at least another 30–40 years doesn’t sound cool to me.

I started out at 245 lbs, and now I’m officially down to 228 almost a month in. If you’re overweight and you feel like you can’t do anything about it, you definitely can.

You just need to start.

I halve all my meals, eat smaller portions, cut back on carbs (bread, pasta, sugars, etc), and started walking every day for at least 30 minutes.

You will see results.

I drink black coffee to boost my metabolism, I drink sparkling water to replace the soda feeling, and I drink unsweetened tea and other 0 calorie drinks.

I still allow myself to eat pizza, cake, and other things, but it’s only ever a few bites and I push the plate away.

Your brain wants what it wants, so I give mine a little taste just to satisfy it.

Video Games:

I learned that my backlog is 358 games deep.

That means that I’ve purchased or emulated over 100 games since March 2022.

I really would like to get that number way down in 2023, so I’ve challenged myself to do the 50 Game Challenge next year.

I’ll be focusing mainly on my favorite series: Zelda, Pokémon, Dragon Quest, Yakuza (Like a Dragon), and Mario titles, so that it’ll be easier to play through more games in a short time.

Afterwards, I will move to all my shorter games like: God of War, Halo, Klonoa, and Metroid.

I’m looking forward to beating 50 games next year… even though that’ll still leave me with a massive 350 games. Oh well!

As of right now, I’m playing through October horror games for the spooky season.

I have Luigi’s Mansion 2 going right now, but also plan to beat Dead Space!

Luigi’s Mansion 2: Dark Moon

I’m excited to be spooked!

What horror titles are you currently playing?

That’s all I have to say for now.

I’ll be writing more soon.

I’m excited to have my blog back!

Stay tuned for more!
